BCE and Regional Support Centres August 19, 2009
Posted by Chris Y in : Updates , add a commentAgain, as part of the follow-up from the Coombe Abbey sessions, John Mackenzie (Manager, RSC South West), Lyn Bender (FE Advisor, RSC South West) and Lis Parcell (HE Advisor, RSC Wales) were invited to the August 2009 Advisory Services cross-projects meeting in Bristol.
The original aim of this session was to look at the potential for RSC HE advisors to act as an interface to the BCE Programme – in particular to the Advisory Service-led projects. However the opportunity to consider the broader (changing) role of the RSCs and how they could be used as a vehicle for engaging with a much wider community than the BCE Programme might reach was too good to pass up.
John delivered an excellent view from the RSC-side of the fence, which instigated plenty of debate and discussion over the two days of the meeting. It is hoped a key result of these activities will be to establish clearer lines of communication and co-operation, which both sides can capitalise on during Phase 3 and beyond.
