About

BCE Awareness and Education for the Wider JISC Community forms part of the JISC BCE (Business and Community Engagement) Programme and is one of four projects being run by the combined the JISC Advisory Services.
The project is part of the Embedding and Communicating BCE programme stream , which is focused on promotion of BCE both within JISC and the JISC community – as well as outwards from JISC.
It is being led by JISC Netskills and aims to deliver:
- Enhanced knowledge and capability in JISC and the wider JISC community to support institutions and respond to their evolving needs and, indirectly, those of their partners and clients
- Enhanced understanding and awareness of BCE activities, benefits and opportunities and how JISC supports and enables them across the range of JISC audiences
Effective BCE directly enhances research and teaching, improves reputation, extends profile and impact, and delivers revenue and non-financial benefits. In many cases the introduction of BCE may be seen as a threat to existing practices or strategic goals. Such change should be regarded as an opportunity rather than a threat to existing teaching and research missions in institutions.
Raising awareness of these potent opportunities involves engaging not only the direct practitioners, but the staff that support and enable them to carry out their activities. JISC, through the Advisory Services, has an important role to play in this process.
